What is GDQ

Gatran's Dictionary of Quran (GDQ) is a clear and simplified dictionary for the vocabulary in the Quran. The acronym (GDQ) is pronounced /dอกส’dak/ the Arabic word (ุฌุฏูƒ) means (your grandfather) in Arabic.


The aim of GDQ is to provide educational tools for Muslim communities that translates the Arabic text of Quran into Englinsh text as well as simplifing the grammar. The work is in progress, the website content is to be arranged in levels, each level has a set of Surahs that share relevant vocabulary. The guide to reading the text is described in an example here. If you are a beginner, the page here has important information. The work here is still in progress, and the search bar is going to provide a wider range of vocabulary in the future.
